Not sure what to cook first? An air fryer is great for many Malaysian favourites. These are starting points; always follow your manual and check that food is cooked through.
Sedap tak perlu banyak minyak, tapi kena tahu caranya.
Ayam goreng berempah
Marinate chicken pieces, pat them dry and brush lightly with oil. Cook at about 180°C to 200°C, turning halfway, until the juices run clear. Check the thickest piece with a thermometer.
Frozen snacks: karipap, nuggets, spring rolls
Cook from frozen at about 180°C, shaking halfway. Do not overcrowd the basket, because crisp needs space.
Fries and keropok
Soak and dry the potato for crisp fries, and add a little oil. Keropok puffs differently, so follow the pack instructions and watch closely.
Fish and prawns
Marinate, dry and cook in a single layer. Fish cooks quickly, so check early.
Pisang goreng and sweet snacks
Coated banana fritters need a stable batter and light oiling, and bake time varies. Start with a low time and adjust.
General tips
Preheat if the recipe says so, shake or turn halfway, avoid overfilling and clean the basket after each use.
